Hi our adventurous friends,
let us take you back to our trip to Drumheller in March of this year. It's a small town within the Red Deer River valley in the badlands of east-central Alberta, Canada. It is not just well know for it's unique landscape but The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, a museum that hosts Canada's largest collection of dinosaur fossils. It's the dinosaur capital of the world and the best is, it is only two hours away from Calgary. So it's perfect for a little getaway with your partner or even the whole family.
Early Sunday morning, we made our way to Drumheller. The drive was nice and we enjoyed the flat country scenery.
Once we arrived to the bad lands, we felt as if we were in a complete different county or even on a different planet. We head to the museum and were welcomed by some real size plastic dinosaurs.
Once we paid the admission we made our way through the exhibits. It was a journey through time and we came face-to-face with some of Canada's mightiest dinosaurs. With thirteen ever-evolving galleries, fun hands-on activities, and the rugged beauty of Alberta's badlands, there's something for everyone.
After spending couple hours at the museum we checked out the gift shop that sells a wide variety of Museum souvenirs as well as gift, dinosaur, and fossil-related items. That's were we got some post cards to send to our friends and family in Europe.
As it was still beautiful outside, we checked out the area around the museum. We felt like the Flintstones; for those who are too young it is an animated comic that takes place in a romanticized Stone Age setting. We walked around and took some amazing pictures.
Over all it was a really beautiful and adventures get away where we not just took amazing pictures but learned about dinosaurs and fossils.
