Hello our adventurous friends,
on the long weekend, we got invited to the Tiki Island Long Weekend Party at National on 8th. Schnitzel got very excited about it because it is her most favorite place and the best rooftop patio in the city. National is a restaurant & entertainment venue inspired by North American tastes, with games and events, extraordinary food, and wide selection of craft beers. Every location has something special and different to offer. If you are someone who likes bowling, then check out National on 10th. They have an 8-lane bowling alley, as well as ping pong tables and pinball machines.
We went to National on 8th, which has Western Canada's largest roof top patio. You literally get the big city feeling like you are in New York. The views from the patio are spectacular, a nice scenic view of our own little concrete jungle. We also took some of our followers there during the day, and they absolutely loved it. It is situated in the heart of downtown at the Scotia Centre on one of Calgary's more vibrant avenues, Stephen's Ave. It is easy to find once in the building, follow the rooftop signs which will lead you to the patio, where you have to keep walking through a corridor until you get rewarded with the big patio surrounded by the concrete jungle.
It was their inaugural Tiki Island Party and we dressed accordingly in Hawaiian Leis and lovely beach attire. They had a late night BBQ, signature rum cocktails sponsored by the El Dorado rum company, and music by amazing Dj's, Gummi, Erwin and Drew Atlas, who played everything from club anthems to island hits. After we got some delicious cocktails we walked around and did a live stream on our Instagram. A couple drinks later, we went on the dance floor and moved our hips to the tropical tunes. The longer into the night the more people came. What we loved most was that everyone was in an amazing summer mood, dancing and having fun.
The next chance for you to party at this marvelous establishment is the Much Music Video Dance Party, which will be on Labour Day long weekend. Loaded with 90's music videos on a huge 45'x15' screen. Tickets are only $5 online or $10 at the door. Have fun and let us know how you liked it!
